Blogs > Within and Inside

This blog is one about symbiosis. Its purpose is to help those out there going through hard times to find solace within. Through the act of questioning our society’s issues and dilemmas, as well as comparing large scale problems to personal ones, we can find a better understanding as who we truly are and how we truly operate. Once we have a firm understanding to this inner dimension our problems will seem less problematic.   This is, perhaps, the grandest of all goals.

The Power of Honesty

Being honest can be a tough task. In a "perfect" world all people would be honest at all times. However, perfection, as we conceptualize it, is an illusory idea. For instance, if a gunman will allow you to live if you tell him you like Snickers bars, but you don't, you might want fib, maybe just this once. And while this may sound a bit mischievous to the proclaimed saints amongst us, not everyone at all times can be open and honest.

There one place where honesty at all times is key. That place is within. No matter what you shield from the world; no matter where you are trying to hide, you cannot hide from yourself. Coincidentally, it seems that those who fib most are not so much lying to others as they are lying to themselves. Lying to oneself is extremely detrimental to personal balance and mental health, yet many do it all the time. Strangely, in our society, self deception is a common occurrence. Our subconscious minds may be screaming the truth but those mental words of manipulation somehow are louder. If you take the time, however, to be honest; if you face up to yourself, you will discover a unique power within. This power will pave the way towards all sorts of accomplishments. With it you can tackle issues, accomplish goals or even simply clear up old emotions.

It's really true.Happy the man who doesn't lieWhen one lies to hmself he will lie to others. The sad part is that after a while one can't remember which lie he told last and becomes known as a lier. When one speaks te truth he becomes known as a man who will tell you the truth even though it may hurt you. You become known as trust worthy or a man of his word.I've known people who lie and I know that the truth would sound better. When one hears something that they shouldn't have heard it's not your job to tell everyone what you heard even if it was true. You become known as a busy body who tells all even if it isn't true. Real men zip there lips and forget they overheard anything.
