Blogs > Within and Inside

This blog is one about symbiosis. Its purpose is to help those out there going through hard times to find solace within. Through the act of questioning our society’s issues and dilemmas, as well as comparing large scale problems to personal ones, we can find a better understanding as who we truly are and how we truly operate. Once we have a firm understanding to this inner dimension our problems will seem less problematic.   This is, perhaps, the grandest of all goals.

Every Breath You Take

Of the plethora of words in the English dictionary, there is one in particular that conjures up many notions. In Latin there were more than twenty terms and definitions for love, and rightfully so. So, what is love? Is it that painful feeling one has when longing for a mate? Is the inability to let someone go beyond your sight? Perhaps love is the emotion you feel when have that special someone in your arms. And perhaps it is that unbearable emotion you feel when you think about them with another person.

If so, this notion of love is not that far off from what a stalker feels; constantly waiting around the corner to see the person of his or her affections, thinking about them constantly, unable to get them out of his or her mind. What is the difference... the intensity? Perhaps our notions of love are a bit off from what we originally intended them to be. Perhaps we are so used to turning everything we want into a possession of ownership and so lose sight of its true value. Perhaps this is the reason for such a high divorce rate.

In any case, it is interesting to think about and review the ideas and concepts we hold dear like love and marriage, only in marriage people feel they have the right to own another person (now that sounds like slavery).
