Blogs > Within and Inside

This blog is one about symbiosis. Its purpose is to help those out there going through hard times to find solace within. Through the act of questioning our society’s issues and dilemmas, as well as comparing large scale problems to personal ones, we can find a better understanding as who we truly are and how we truly operate. Once we have a firm understanding to this inner dimension our problems will seem less problematic.   This is, perhaps, the grandest of all goals.

Within & Inside

Within & Inside

Within and inside… where is that? Is the title of this blog just an arbitrary concept designed to dupe its readers into believing in some ideology they will never experience? By no means whatsoever is that the case. Within and inside is the core of all beings, it is the source from which all life springs from and grows and manifests. Of grand importance, however, within and inside is the root of all stability. Only when we are connected consciously to the well of wisdom can we experience a life a balance and fulfillment. I dare not say happiness because happiness is not derived from within and inside. Happiness is a temporary sensation that is the result of attainment. In other words, when we perceive to attain what we want we feel happy, or better put, satisfied. But, as most of us can attest to, satisfaction rarely last for long. Our minds crave a constant feed of entertainment.

So, the question is: How do I live a life from Within & Inside?

Stilling Movement

In the average waking human day we go about our lives bombarded by an influx of countless signals. Advertisements, street directions, emails, personal conversations and so much more are, virtually, at every moment seeping their way into our psyche and getting translated into concepts for our minds to map out. This translates into (again virtually) one thought per second, that's about 3,600 thoughts per hour and about 60,000 thoughts per waking day! No wonder we are all tired, run down, depressed, angry and nervous. We never get a break!

But, what if you could take a break, a break without having a mental meltdown or midlife crises? What if you could, today, this moment, take a pause in the chaos running around upstairs and actually enjoy those seconds that seem to be taken up by that autonomous sub-human mechanism you call a mind.

How? How can this be done you ask. Why, quite simply, by redirecting your focus. Intentionally breathe, and make those long breaths. Intentionally look at something you find appealing and study it. I do not imply the sort of study a twenty-year old stud would give to the buxom blond sitting next to him at the bar. No, study with awareness. However, if there is someone you find appealing, for whatever reason, study them with wonder. Notice the being not just the flesh before your eyes. Make sure too to feel within your own body. Feel the life flowing through your veins. Feel the heat emanating from your skin. Lastly, listen to the thoughts slowing down in your head. However, don't think about them just listen as they wind down to a silence.

                Feel more peaceful…?

Now ask yourself: What would it be like to live like this all of the time?
